This medal depicts the Crucifixion of the Lady of Sorrows. The word compassion derives from the Latin roots cum and patior which means "to suffer with". The seven sorrows of the Blessed Mother are displayed in art history as seven daggers piercing her heart, often bleeding. This original Latin antiquity was handmade in bronze by a master craftsman. Cynthia Ann created a decorative bezel around to create this beautiful masterpiece.
